ENGR. ENYINNAYA NWAFOR RE-ECHOES THE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE OF BENDE LGA IN THE DEVELOPMENT MATRIX OF ABIA STATE
In further demonstration of his resolve to make the people the fulcrum of his aspiration to serve Abia State come 2023, a frontline gubernatorial contender, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor, was in his best element on thursday when his consultation trail pulled a stop at BENDE LGA. Mission was to meet with PDP leaders, stakeholders and other party faithfuls in the LGA to drive home his GRACE agenda which encapsulates his strategic programs for taking Abia State to a higher pedestal in human capital development, infrastructural renaissance, industry and commerce, provision of top grade healthcare and educational facilities, sustainable waste management initiatives as well as women and youth empowerment.
The interactive session gave the aspirant ample opportunity to explain to the party stalwarts how the 13 communities of Bende LGA with a population of nearly 200,000 persons will be impacted either by siting of social amenities, SMEs support packages, road infrastructure and provision of water facilities. This he said is very possible through a collaborative engagement with well-meaning indigenes of the area and International donor/ support agencies who are ready to partner with him to achieve many aspects of the strategic development goals if given the support to serve as Governor of Abia State.
Engr. Nwafor who was at home throughout the meeting, reminded the stakeholders that forward-looking s
States in Nigeria are embracing the dexterity of youthful energy, entrepreneural innovation, international best practices and open governance style in their choice of leaders and therefore urged them to see him as “an epitome of those virtues and qualities”, irrespective of where he comes from. He concluded by reiterating the fact that the next Governor of Abia State should be someone with visible presence in the State, with a track record of performance in his career/business, with demonstrable empathy for the plight of the citizens and a team player with his eyes on the ball for the good of all. Above all, such a person should have been nurtured and personally prepared for the challenges ahead and not a person foisted to serve pecuniary interests.
