ABIA 2023: HOW THE CANDIDATES STAND
In the coming days, candidates of various political parties across the country will kick off campaigns. For several reasons, Nigerians will be going to an election with increased voter consciousness and awareness. There seems to be a consensus that the acceptance of a Candidate not necessarily the political party will be a major deciding factor for who gets elected.
BENUDECHUKWU.COM will be beaming its searchlight with a panoramic view on most of the candidates in Abia State. We shall be having a retrospective analyses of each mentioned Candidate’s antecedents, score card in previous or present assignments, capacity and public perception. From that standpoint, it will be easier to make introspective presumptions.
From the Governorship Candidates to National Assembly and State House of Assembly Candidates, we will be interrogating all spheres of their lives to arrive at a predictable stand. Typical of our tradition, BENUDECHUKWU.COM will be as objective as possible, offering perspectives that are germane.
We are particularly interested in
1. How Gov. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu will succeed in having his preferred People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Prof. Eleazer Uche Ikonne elected as Governor in an election that has the youth – friendly and popular Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Dr. Alex Otti of Peter Obi’s Labour Party (LP), Prof. Gregory Ibe of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) with the Ojukwu sentiment and High Chief Ikechi Emenike of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); on the ballot.

2. How Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of APGA Abia South Senatorial District hopes, to stop Gov. Ikpeazu, his Obingwa kinsman; from being the only Abia Governor since 1999 that was unable to return to the Senate

3. How the battle of wits will play out between incumbent Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (APC) and Senator Mao Ohabunwa (PDP) in a Senatorial District that is widely viewed as an APC enclave.

4. How Hon. Benjamin Kalu of the APC hopes to activate the advantages of his towering achievements to extinguish PDP’s Hon. Nnenna Ukeje’s lifelong ambition of returning to House of Representatives to represent Bende Federal Constituency.

5. How a “neophte” Obinna Nwosu from a relatively new African Democratic Congress (ADC) is working hard to stop Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji (IKUKU), Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, from making that triumphant entry into the Green Chambers to represent Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency

Our preliminary investigations reveal that Abians are ready to do things differently.
