PDP CRISIS: GOV. ORTOM BREAKS RANKS WITH WIKE, SUPPORTS AYU

The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, today broke ranks with his master, boss, and friend on the problematic issue of Ayu’s removal. It did not come as a surprise to me.
Ironically, Ortom, together with his boss Wike, met Shettimma and Tinubu last night in London.
Shettimma flew from the United States for the meeting.
Even after the meeting on how to deliver Benue and Rivers States to Tinubu last night, Ortom woke up this morning and then instructed his Press Secretary to issue a press release, distancing himself from his boss Wike on the removal of his kinsman Ayu.
For many of us who are students of politics, we are not surprised by the Messi move, the counter offensive by Ortom this morning, and I will explain why.
Ayu is from a clan called the Jemgbagh tribe, which is still part and parcel of the TIV.
Ortom is also TIV, and he is running for Senate on the same ballot as Atiku, on the same day.
Here is the thing.
Ayu’s kinsmen in Benue, known as the Jemgbahi, have been spreading the word via WhatsApp, village squares, and public forums, demarketing Ortom badly that Ortom is a traitor, a foolish boy working with an outsider to destroy their son.
Ayu’s kinsmen, the Jemghbahi, are in the majority in the 3 local governments in Benue state which fall under Ortom’s constituency. Unfortunately for Ortom, he must win these 3 local governments where Ayu’s kinsmen are in the majority if he were to achieve his dream of becoming a Nigerian Senator next year.
Ayu’s kinsmen, the Jemghbahi, were so ferocious, so lethal and resolute in painting Ortom as a traitor that they commissioned a press release in their local language, which went viral yesterday, especially on Whatsapp, about what Ortom was doing to their son Ayu.
Seeing the local crisis brewing at home and the fact that he has been pushed even further against the wall, made worse that he has been a poor governor who owes salaries and pensions.
It was on the news the other day that Okada riders were sleeping with the wives of poor pensioners in Benue State who are being owed by Ortom.
At the end of the day, all politics is local, so Ortom chose to answer his father’s name and to save his political career by distancing himself from his Oga.
Poor Ortom!
A classic brilliant political move by Atiku’s camp.
A masterstroke and an ingenious move by Atiku’s faction of PDP.
Atiku Abubakar is teaching Wike and the boys following him how politics is played in Nigeria and the fact that he is a Ronaldo who understands the game better than they do.
Yesterday, the political career of Wike’s enemy , Secondus, was resurrected with a political appointment offered to him by Atiku.
Today, Ortom is breaking rank.
I hope Emperor Wike wakes up and smells the coffee before he wakes up one day to see that all his boys have deserted him and that he is a naked Emperor without troops loyal to him.
