The Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) for the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election, Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Saturday, formally graduated from the Faculty of Law of Baze University, Abuja. Speaking briefly at the 7th and 8th convocation ceremony of the University, Senator Ubah who graduated with Second Class Honours (Lower Division), thanked God for his guidance throughout the academic program.
Speaking further, Senator Ubah thanked his wife Mrs. Uche Ubah, children, and well-wishers for their support and reassured them that as a Law Graduate, he will relentlessly promote equity, fairness, and Justice in society.
In his address, the event’s special guest of honor President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated the graduating students and urged them to always promote peace and national unity. The President who was represented by the Honourable Minister of Special Duties, Senator George Akume, further assured the university that the Federal Government will continue to give adequate support that will enable it to champion discipline and excellence in its activities.
Also speaking, the University’s Chancellor and Board of Trustees Chairman, former Vice-President Namadi Sambo, GCON congratulated the graduating students for distinguishing themselves in character and in learning and urged them to remain good disciples of the University. Arc. Sambo who was also the Chairman of the event disclosed that the convocation couldn’t hold in 2020 due to the national lockdown over COVID-19 pandemic and assured the Management, Staff, and Students of the University of continuous support of the Board of Trustees.
In his remarks, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN congratulated the graduating students and urged them to always represent the institution well in their life endeavors. He also disclosed that the university will leave no stone unturned in promoting academic excellence and discipline. Prof. Mamman further thanked the Federal Government for providing an enabling environment for the university and assured Nigerians that the University’s Management will always champion discipline and excellence in running the affairs of the noble institution.
Also at the occasion which was preceded by a Convocation Lecture delivered by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the Baze University Hospital was commissioned by the representative of the President, Senator George Akume.
Other dignitaries at the epic event include the Honourable Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, SAN, Honourable Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Governors, Former Governors, Former Ministers, Sultan of Sokoto Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, Managing Directors of various Banks and Ambassadors.
