MINISTER UCHE NNAJI AND THE AUDACITY OF DECEIT
In one breath, Tinubu’s Minister for Science & Technology Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji had claimed that he graduated. from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and duly obtained a certificate in 1985. At another breath, Uche says that because of the “uncooperative attitude” of the University of Nigeria, he was unable to obtain his certificate.

The thoughts that Uche had submitted this “UNN” certificate to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Secretary to Government of the Federation and unfortunately to One Hundred and Nine (109) Distinguished Senators, knowing it was void, highlights that the Enugu politician has no issues being integrity challenged.
While Nigerians were waiting to see how this uncanny plot will be untangled, the smart (though by half) Uche instituted one of the most frivolous law suits in Nigeria’s history, took a writ to restrain the University of Nigeria Nsukka from tampering with an academic record that does not exist.

Perhaps, we need to remind Uche Nnaji, that as a Minister of the Federal Republic, he is compelled to live above board, eschew deceit and desist from desecrating the distinguished position of a Minister. While the world awaits the decision of the court in the suit he instituted, it is important to remind Minister NNAJI that deception is a vice, not a virtue. Nigeria is in dire need of politicians who would neither squander the people’s goodwill nor validate the claim that morally buoyant politicians are in short supply in Nigeria. Science does not indulge voodoo just as Technology requires transparent processes from start to finish. Uche simply needs to put an end to the escalation of moral depravity by apologising to Nigerians and leave the stage now.
