IMO: PDP CONSCIOUSLY ENSNARED IN OLD SCHOOL SYSTEM, DOING SAME 2019 THINGS IN SAME OLD WAYS, BUT IN VAIN EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS IN 2023

Ogu Bundu Nwadike

It’s no longer news that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has screened the common foes of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) to vie for the governorship ticket of the party in Imo State for the gubernatorial election coming up on November 11, 2023.

Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, PDP Chieftain

What that simply means is that one of the two unfriendly friends will be flying the flag of Imo PDP in the much awaited governorship election in Imo State.

Incidentally, both stale entities also slugged it out in the runs to the 2019 governorship election in the State, with Ihedioha carrying the day and clinching the coveted ticket trophy.

Surprisingly, the embattled party is doing same things in the same ways, and expecting different results.

The applicable poser there is: “What must have changed in the duo of Samdaddy and Ihedioha?

Indeed, what must have changed in for good, better or best in Imo PDP? Has Imo PDP fared any better since 2003, when it last won the gubers in Imo State?

After fielding failed Ihedioha in the 2015 and 2019 gubernatorial elections, what has really changed for good, better or best?

After Samdaddy was sent packing from the Senate at the 2019 general elections and after he lost out in party guber primary election against Ihedioha, what has really changed besides his emergence as National Secretary of PDP from a concensus system, that favored him via highly placed power brokers in high places in PDP?

Point is that it’s unfortunate that Imo PDP leaders and members succumbed to the unwise pressure of reserving their precious guber ticket to either of the same Ihedioha and Samdaddy.

Trouble is when Ndimo decisively vote enmass for their beloved leader, governor, and father, Governor Uzodimma, Imo PDP will start troubling and fouling the established peace of the State, screaming “the election was rigged by writing”!

They’ll forget that, ab initio, they fielded a stale candidate who can never be a match to Governor Uzodimma under the circumstances.

Anyhow, it’s really none of our business! Just that we owe the society and system the duty and responsibility of sharing views and opinions on issues and matters arising in the politics of Imo State.

If you, our fans and readers, stay tuned to our short essay series, you can be sure of getting facts and figures about the current affairs and situations in Imo State. Stay blessed!

By God’s grace, Imo State is being recovered, reconstructed and rehabilitated by Governor Uzodimma!

Always expect the best from Governor Uzodimma! 😎🤷🏽‍♂️
