WHY ENGR. NWAFOR WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN THE PDP GUBER PRIMARIES
On the 24th of May; 2022 and in what may have become a uniform response to the proposed Governorship primaries of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, one of the leading Governorship Aspirants of the PDP, in a letter signed by him; notified PDP Stakeholders and Faithfuls that he will not be participating in the primaries slated for today 25th May, 2022. All the Aspirants who have served notice of non – participation seem to allege, like Engr. Nwafor that the 3man adhoc delegate election is a “fraudulent process that may only lead to pyrrhic victory”. We are aware that the veracity of this claim will be a matter for adjudication.
At the last count, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, the incumbent Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Senator Chief Whip and incumbent Senator representing Abia South and Chief Ncheta Omerekpe of the same PDP have served notice of their non – participation in the PDP Guber primaries. However, the gale of notice of non – participation is not peculiar to the PDP. Alex Otti, a frontline Guber Aspirant on the platform of the APC had also informed his party APC of his decision to discontinue with the process.

It is not certain what Engr. Nwafor’s next line of action would be. Many believe that his ability during his tour of the various local governments across the State, to have presented policies that are measurable and achievable qualify him as the MOST BEAUTIFUL BRIDE.

Elsewhere notable Senatorial, Reps And House of Assembly Aspirants of the PDP have also served notice of non – participation in the respective PDP primaries. Hon. Solomon Adaelu, Hon. Darlington Nwokeocha (both serving members of the House of Reps), Chief Chuku Wachuku, Ginger Onwusibe (incumbent member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency), Ibe Nwoke (Executive Chairman Obingwa Local Government Area), Ebere Nwankwo (Ebere Umunneochi) and Hanson Amaechi are some of the popular PDP Aspirants who may be on their way out of the Party.

NOTICE OF NON PARTICIPATION
Dear Stakeholders & Party Faithfuls,
It is with all sense of responsibility that I write to inform you of my decision not to participate in the PDP Guber Primaries scheduled to hold tomorrow 25th May,2022. Hard as this decision may be, given the resources, time, energy and goodwill invested in this project, I feel more concerned about your dreams and hope for a better Abia State which ,by the grace of God and your support, I dared to realise. Unfortunately, by the contrivance of a few self-serving persons, the processes leading up to our party Primaries have been manipulated through a non-existent ward Congress to scheme us out of the race in PDP.
Like you would expect, I cannot be party to a fraudulent process that may only lead to pyrrhic victory. The basis for tomorrow’s purported Guber Primaries is like a foundation built on quicksand. So your guess is as good as mine if legal precedence is anything to fall back on.
As I ruminate on the next line of action regarding our shared vision for the state, I find it most honourable and decent to sincerely thank you for accepting me and my GRACE Agenda with your warm reception, prayers and moral support. You demonstrated conviction in my capacity to deliver, much more than where I come from. You believed that my proposed transformation program was simple, measurable and achievable. And you were ready to go the whole hug with me on a level playing field. But alas, we are faced with a hijacked process whose outcome cannot be edifying. Else how do you explain that a spurious list of 3-man delegates from a non-existent ward Congress will be used to conduct Guber Primaries in this age and time.
Be that as it may, I will continue to consult widely and pray to God for direction to the next course of action. Be rest assured I will not take your support for granted.
Once again, thank you and may God bless you all.
Engr Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor. MNSE, CFPM
