Hon. Mandela Obasi is a second term member representing Ohafia North State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly. His first election in 2015 was almost a walk over as majority of the voters did not have a problem identifying with a man who was an astute businessman, employer of labour and a philanthropist of note.
In the last few weeks, many of his Abiriba kinsmen have shown interest in showing Madela way out of the House of Assembly for what they termed as abysmal performance. Those who hold this opinion recollect that during the build up to the 2019, Mandela laid claim to attracting the AMAETITI PRIMARY SCHOOL in Ohafia South State Constituency before Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu, Deputy Speaker and member representing Ohafoa South at the 7th Abia House of Assembly, quickly countered Mandela.
In order to further proof that he attracted the Amaetiti project, Rt. Hon. Uchendu quickly added “attracted by Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu” to the existing inscription at the project site. However, some of Mandela’s constituents insist he sold off a project originally awarded to his Constituency.
When BENUDECHUKWU.COM contacted Rt. Hon. UCHENDU, he quickly told us in a telephone interview that the Abia State Universal Basic Educatiom Board (ASUBEB) alloted the projet to him. He however said the project was done by Hon. Obasi. Hon. Obasi refused to respond to our Short Message regarding his involvement in the controversial Amaetiti Primary School
At Ohafia, the tales of woe continue. Eme Otisi, one of Mandela’s constituents insists that at Abiriba, the water project undertaken by Mandela has not functioned in a long time, just like the Civic Centre to his name is nearly moribund
These discordant tunes not withstanding, the Enachioken – in – Council led by the revered His Royal Majesty Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu IV Esq. passed a vote of confidence on rhe representation of Hon.
