The peace of Umuahia, the capital city of Abia State was ‘disrupted’ today as Engr. Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor, a foremost Governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), formerly informed leadership of the PDP of his intention to vie for Governorship.

It was sea of heads, undiluted, yet massive support from citizens who thronged the Party Headquarters in solidarity for a man, the mammoth crowd described as the “simplified picture of hope for further inclusive governance”.

Engr. Nwafor, foremost industrialist, investor, serial enterpreneur and Chief Executive Officer of TUNNEL END GROUP was accompanied to the Party Secretariate by front line Stakeholders from Osisioma, party faithfuls across the three senatorial districts and support groups drawn from all electoral wards in the State, told members of the State Working Committee (SWC) that he is driven mostly by passion and his ability to interprete in proper form and context, the challenges confronting the State.

46 year old, Mbutu Umuojima, Osisioma Local Government Area born Engineer, presented a well worded Manifesto that simplified sector by sector approach to what he described as “practical governance”.

In his speech, State Chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon. Dr. Allwell Asiforo, represented by his Deputy, Chief Obinna Nwachukwu; assured Engr. Nwafor to take provision of level playing field by the Party for granted. Dr. Asiforo noted that the PDP in Abia is not unmindful of the yearnings and desires of citizens to have a candidate with the capacity and competence to deliver quality governance.
