I wish to use this medium to appreciate your diligent representation at the National Assembly.
I also want to bring to your notice that the opportunity which the Federal Government has extended to South East Nigeria is being politicized and it doesn’t sit well with the South East people.

For so many years, we have agitated for marginalization and we had continuously requested for an additional State in the South East to equate the six states of other geopolitical zones in Nigeria. Today the agitation has paid off. There is an approval for the creation of one more State in the South East.
Suddenly, we are hearing about Anioma State, Adada State, Aba State etc., leaving the very State that will do justice to this long awaited State creation which is ETITI STATE

The Federal Government never said that a State should be created from Abia State, Anambra State, Ebonyi State, Enugu State or Imo State, rather the message is very clear, a State from the South East of Nigeria.
That is to say that all the States in the South East should benefit from this Statesman creation. In order to achieve that, the only State creation that will involve all the States in South East Nigeria is the ETITI STATE because each of the States of the South East has a boundary with each other at ETITI STATE and they are landlocked.
If there are to be three LGAs from each State of the South East, the list will be as this.
Abia State has:
Umunneochi LGA, Isuikwuato LGA and Bende LGA
Anambra State has Orumba North LGA, Orumba South LGA and Aguata LGA.
Ebonyi State has Ivo LGA, Onicha LGA and Ishiagu LGA
Enugu State has Aninri LGA, Awgu LGA and Nkanu East LGA
Imo State has Ideato North LGA, Ideato South LGA and Onuimo LGA.
All these LGAs of the five States of the South East are in one location.
More LGAs should also be created from these existing LGAs to enhance extension of grassroots development.
Furthermore, it is worthy of note that these LGAs are under developed and creating a new State from these locations will bring tremendous transformation and development to these areas.
Aba State will only be carved out from Abia State while Adada State will only be carved out from Enugu State and this will defeat the purpose of this additional State creation for South East Nigeria.
Moreover, all the mineral resources you can think of is deposited in these LGAs.
I hereby urge you to use your good office to ensure that equity is achieved in creation of this State in the South East of Nigeria.
I want to commend the efforts of Hon. Chief Amobi Ogah, the honourable member representing Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency and other House Members who are contributing immensely to achieve this ETITI STATE as was earlier championed by late Senator Uche Chukwumerije.
May God give you the strength and wisdom to achieve this for your people, the South Eastern Nigerians.
